Terms of Service
Last updated: March 2026
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of Wrench, the maintenance management software operated at onwrench.com ("the Service"). By creating an account or using Wrench, you agree to these Terms.
1. The Service
Wrench is a cloud-based computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) designed for small manufacturers. The Service includes equipment tracking, preventive maintenance scheduling, work order management, parts inventory, and related features available through the web application and Progressive Web App (PWA).
2. Accounts
You must provide accurate information when creating an account. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. Notify us immediately at support@onwrench.com if you suspect unauthorized access.
The person who creates an organization account is the initial administrator. Administrators can invite team members and assign roles (Admin, Planner, Supervisor, Technician). The administrator is responsible for managing their team's access.
3. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use the Service for any unlawful purpose
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to other accounts or our systems
- Interfere with or disrupt the Service
- Reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code
- Resell or sublicense access to the Service without our written permission
- Use the Service to store content unrelated to maintenance management
- Upload malicious code, viruses, or harmful data
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.
4. Your Data
You retain ownership of all data you enter into Wrench (equipment records, work orders, parts data, maintenance history, etc.). We do not claim ownership of your data.
You grant us a limited license to host, store, and process your data solely to provide and improve the Service. We will not access your data except to operate the Service, provide support you request, or comply with legal obligations.
You are responsible for the accuracy and legality of the data you enter. You should maintain your own backups of critical data. While we take reasonable precautions, we are not a backup service.
5. Service Availability
We aim to keep Wrench available and reliable, but we do not guarantee 100% uptime. The Service may be temporarily unavailable due to maintenance, updates, or circumstances beyond our control. We will make reasonable efforts to notify you of planned downtime.
The offline PWA functionality allows basic use without an internet connection, but full functionality requires connectivity. Data entered offline will sync when your device reconnects.
6. Pricing and Payment
Wrench offers a Free tier and paid plans as described on our Pricing page. Free tier accounts are subject to usage limits (users, equipment, PM schedules).
For paid plans, billing is handled through Stripe. Prices are in US Dollars. We may change pricing with 30 days' notice. Price changes will not apply to your current billing period.
If payment fails, we will attempt to notify you and provide a reasonable grace period before restricting access to paid features.
7. Cancellation
You can cancel your account at any time. Upon cancellation:
- Your access to paid features will continue through the end of the current billing period
- You can request a data export before cancellation
- Your data will be deleted within 30 days after the billing period ends, unless retention is required by law
We may also terminate or suspend your account if you violate these Terms, with notice where reasonable.
8. Intellectual Property
The Wrench software, design, logo, and documentation are owned by us and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws. These Terms do not grant you any rights to our trademarks or branding.
Your maintenance data, equipment records, and other content you create in Wrench remain yours.
9. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Wrench and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of profits, data, or equipment downtime, arising from your use of or inability to use the Service.
Our total liability for any claim related to the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim, or $100, whichever is greater.
Wrench is a tool to help manage maintenance workflows. It does not replace professional engineering judgment, safety protocols, or regulatory compliance. You are responsible for your own maintenance decisions and safety practices.
10. Disclaimer of Warranties
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure, or that any defects will be corrected.
11. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Wrench and its operators from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your use of the Service or your violation of these Terms.
12. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you by email or by posting a notice in the application at least 30 days before the changes take effect. Your continued use of the Service after that date constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
